Week of April 11-14, 2022

Language Arts

Monday: GROUP 1 (Aaron, Cyler, Dylan, Diego and Ray) practiced reading and identifying their sight words flash cards.
DYLAN – will be assessed on his sight words flash cards (second grade Tier 3 words).
CYLER – will identify and write the sight word SUCH three times each, along with a sentence.
DIEGO – will practice identifying and write the word ” UP “three times, along with a sentence.
AARON- will practice writing the word “HOW” three times, along with a sentence.
Margaret – will practice identifying and writing the word” To three times along with a sentence.
REYMERES- will practice spelling, tracing and writing his name. He will also practice identifying and writing the letter Aa and words that beginning with the letter A. Reymeres will also practice saying the sound letter Aa makes.
They all will practice reciting and writing their phone number and who they live with. They will also complete two pages in their long vowel word packet.
GROUP 2: KING will practice identifying his sight word flash cards. He will also practice identifying associated three letter word flash cards with pictures. King will also identify and write the letter X and words that begin with the letter X. He will also work on identifying and writing long vowel words.
DIEGO- will also identify and write the letter X and words that begin with the letter X. He will also work on identifying and writing long vowel words.
SEBASTIAN- will review, identify and write letters A-J. He will also match and point to the letters A-J.

Math

Monday: Group 1 (Aaron, Cyler, Dylan, Margaret and Ray) will continue learning about money. Today we will review the name of each coin and the name of each dollar bills. We will also review the values of each coin and dollar bill. As a way to assess the student’s knowledge on recognition of the name and values they will complete a math worksheet on money.
If there is more time as a class, we will play a math money interactive game on the computer.
Group 2: (Diego and King) They will practice adding with pictures single digit numbers. They will practice counting and filling numbers 1-40.
SEBASTIAN- will practice matching, pointing and writing numbers 1-10. He will also practice matching the following shapes: triangle, circle, square, rectangle, oval and diamond to its corresponding pair. Sebastian will also practice completing a 6-piece animal puzzle.

Tuesday: Group 1 (Aaron, Cyler, Dylan, Margaret and Ray) will continue learning about money. Today we will review identifying and writing the dollar sign. I will show different dollar bills to the students, and they will have to write the value of each dollar bill ex. $1 on a white board.
If there is more time as a class, we will play a math money interactive game on the computer.
Group 2: (Diego and King) They will practice adding with pictures single digit numbers. They will practice counting and filling numbers 1-40.
SEBASTIAN- will practice matching, pointing and writing numbers 1-10. He will also practice matching the following shapes: triangle, circle, square, rectangle, oval and diamond to its corresponding pair. Sebastian will also practice completing a 6-piece animal puzzle.

Wednesday:Group 1 (Aaron, Cyler, Dylan, Margaret and Ray) will continue learning about money. Today we will learn how to write and identify the cent symbol. I will show a coin and the students will practice writing the value of each coin, including the cent symbol.
If there is more time as a class, we will play a math money interactive game on the computer.
Group 2: (Diego and King) They will practice adding with pictures single digit numbers. They will practice counting and filling numbers 1-40.
SEBASTIAN- will practice matching, pointing and writing numbers 1-10. He will also practice matching the following shapes: triangle, circle, square, rectangle, oval and diamond to its corresponding pair. Sebastian will also practice completing a 6-piece animal puzzle.

Thursday: Group 1 (Aaron, Cyler, Dylan, Margaret and Ray) will continue learning about money. Today we will play a money matching game. The student will match bills and coins with their value.
If there is more time as a class, we will play a math money interactive game on the computer.

Life Skills

Monday: Students will continue practicing life skills from the past weeks: buttoning, unbuttoning a shirt, folding and unfolding a shirt, lacing and unlacing letters and tying shoe will the shoe model. They will continue working on these skills upon mastering. Each student needs to practice on different life skills. Extra Time: The students will work on toolboxes.

Social Skills

Monday: Students will practice socializing with a partner. They will pick a partner to eating lunch with. They will discuss what they did over the weekend.

Tuesday: Students will practice following directions. We will play Simon Says as a class.

Wednesday: Students will practice taking turns and plays cooperatively with their friends. They will play on the floor with Legos.

Thursday: Students will practice waiting and sitting a circle. We will play duck duck goose as a class.

Friday: NO SCHOOL

Art:

Monday: Recycling Week: Students will create their own masterpiece with Styrofoam.

Tuesday: Recycling Week: After Yoga, students will free draw while listening to relaxing, calming music.

Wednesday: Recycling Week: Students will glue buttons on a recycle symbol template.

Thursday: Recycling Week: Each student will make a flower with recycle materials. They will use buttons, pom poms and cupcake liners.

Friday: NO SCHOOL

Reading/Literature

Monday: Group 1 (Margaret, Aaron, Cyler, Dylan and Reymeres) will continue reading Bud the Sud as a class. After, we finish reading the story we have a discussion about the story. Each student will answer verbal comprehension questions.
Group 2 (Diego,) will read Pam’s Jam. He will practice identifying flash cards from words in the story. King will read Pen Pals and answer verbal comprehension questions.
Sebastian: He will listen to the story Pam’s Jam.
If there is enough time, they will practice reading stories on Starfall.
